Forget the Atmosphere. What about the Oceans?

As you can see from the following photographs, the crap that Industry (which we cannot exclusively blame as long as we use their products, which we all do) puts into the oceans far exceeds the crap put into the atmosphere. Since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, the acidic content of the seas has increased significantly. We know more about the Moon than our own oceans. What will be the result? The residents of Japanese fishing villages are well aware of what happens - giant-sized Nomura jellyfish, below:
